SmarTech Holdings is a precious-metals refinery and trading company registered in Hong Kong, casting under the ZQ mark. Our output is deliberately narrow: 999.9 fine silver and gold cast bars, produced for bulk buyers who care about provenance more than packaging.

Every bar accounted for

Each bar leaves the floor stamped with the ZQ mark, its weight, its fineness and a serial number engraved individually — never batch-stamped. That serial ties the bar to its independent assay certificate, so the chain from melt to delivery stays intact.

Assay and settlement

Assay is carried out by independent laboratories; ZQ is not an LBMA Good Delivery refiner and does not claim to be. Bulk deals are quoted against the live UAE market and settled by bank transfer or documentary letter of credit once the quotation is confirmed.

We specialise in refining silver scrap recovered through silver recovery services and a range of industrial waste streams, using modern technology to deliver pure material with minimal environmental impact. Recovered metal re-enters our own casting line, so every kilogram we ship is accounted for from feed to finished bar.

Refining and casting sit under one roof: feed is sampled on arrival, purified, and cast to 999.9 fine bars stamped with the ZQ mark, weight, fineness and an individual serial.

Refinery materials

What we accept as feed.

High grade silver feed materials prepared for refining

Our silver refining service receives 98%+ high-grade silver in various forms from customers and converts it to 999.9 fine silver cast bars, including:

  • Silver doré

    Beads and bars from cupellation.

  • Silver flake

    Recovered photographic and industrial flake.

  • Bullion, grain or wire

    Investment bullion, casting grain, drawn wire.

  • Other metallic silver

    Bars and manufacturing scrap of known high assay.

Refining process

Furnace, cupel, cell, cast.

Modern electrolysis on a traditional pyrometallurgical base.

Recovery begins in a blast furnace, where suitable silver scrap is incinerated to ash. The ash is blended with other silver-bearing materials and heated, reacting to produce a lead-silver alloy of up to 50% silver. Preferential oxidation strips the lead, yielding 98%+ high-grade silver and litharge (lead oxide). The litharge is recycled; the silver is cast as doré beads and passed to the refinery.

The refinery takes that 98%+ silver from the cupel and purifies it in Moebius cells. Titanium mesh baskets act as the anode and hold the bars, submerged in an acidified silver nitrate electrolyte. Under current, silver ions migrate and deposit as crystals on the cathodes. The crystals are scraped, collected, melted and cast into 999.9 fine bars, stamped 999.9 and serialised individually.

Materials received

Silver scrap materials are received and secured, weighed, and given a unique individual identity number. That number tracks the lot through preparation and sampling, and ties it to the serials cast from it.
